Carrier Aces

Carrier aces is a 3rd person flight simulator that takes place during world war ii. The game is also entirely split screen, with a second player or the computer opponent taking the controls on the second half of the secreen. Players control an aircraft pilot of either the united states or japanese empire. Based aboard an aircraft carrier, the player can engage in the following missions: 1vs1 dogfights, strafing runs on enemy ships, dive bombing on enemy ships, torpedo runs on enemy ships and carrier landings. All missions are made up of these elements, however campaign missions also feature the ability to decide which aircraft to bring into battle, each with it's own statistics, and keep track of progress on an area map. When two forces engage each other on this map, players can choose which plane to bring into battle and it will close in a 1vs1 battle with the enemy. In dogfights, both players control an aircraft whereas during ship combat, one player controls an aircraft and the other will control the ship's turret gun. Aircraft controls include being able to tilt left and right, climb, dive, increase speed, decrease speed, fire guns, release bombs/torpedoes (if present) and do a 180 degree loop. Turret controls are more limited, only allowing the player to aim left and right, fire the gun and zoom.

Basé à bord d'un porte-avions, le joueur peut s'engager dans les missions suivantes : combats aériens 1 contre 1, mitraillage sur des navires ennemis, bombardements en piqué sur des navires ennemis, courses de torpilles sur des navires ennemis et atterrissages de porte-avions. Toutes les missions sont constituées de ces éléments, mais les missions de campagne offrent également la possibilité de décider quel avion amener au combat, chacun avec ses propres statistiques, et de suivre la progression sur une carte de zone. Lorsque deux forces s'affrontent sur cette carte, les joueurs peuvent choisir quel avion amener au combat et celui-ci se terminera dans une bataille 1 contre 1 avec l'ennemi. Dans les combats aériens, les deux joueurs contrôlent un avion tandis que pendant les combats navals, un joueur contrôle un avion et l'autre contrôlera le canon de la tourelle du navire. Les commandes de l'avion incluent la possibilité de s'incliner à gauche et à droite, de monter, de plonger, d'augmenter la vitesse, de diminuer la vitesse, de tirer avec des canons, de larguer des bombes/torpilles (le cas échéant) et d'effectuer une boucle à 180 degrés. Carrier Aces è un simulatore di volo in terza persona ambientato durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Anche il gioco è interamente a schermo diviso, con un secondo giocatore o l'avversario computerizzato che prendono i controlli nella seconda metà dello schermo. I giocatori controllano un pilota di aerei degli Stati Uniti o dell'impero giapponese. A bordo di una portaerei, il giocatore può impegnarsi nelle seguenti missioni: combattimenti aerei 1vs1, mitragliamenti su navi nemiche, bombardamenti in picchiata su navi nemiche, attacchi con siluri su navi nemiche e atterraggi di portaerei. Tutte le missioni sono costituite da questi elementi, tuttavia le missioni della campagna prevedono anche la possibilità di decidere quali aerei portare in battaglia, ognuno con le proprie statistiche, e di tenere traccia dei progressi su una mappa dell'area. Quando due forze si affrontano su questa mappa, i giocatori possono scegliere quale aereo portare in battaglia e si chiuderà in una battaglia 1vs1 con il nemico. Nei combattimenti aerei, entrambi i giocatori controllano un aereo mentre durante il combattimento navale, un giocatore controlla un aereo e l'altro controlla il cannone della torretta della nave. I controlli dell'aereo includono la possibilità di inclinarsi a sinistra e a destra, arrampicarsi, tuffarsi, aumentare la velocità, diminuire la velocità, sparare con le armi, rilasciare bombe/siluri (se presenti) ed eseguire un giro di 180 gradi. I controlli della torretta sono più limitati e consentono al giocatore solo di mirare a destra e sinistra, sparare con la pistola e zoomare.
