A flashback reveals that the last battle which was fought with the dagger ended in defeat when the warrior monks of tibet succeeded in removing the knife from the emperor's heart. The dagger was then returned to its resting place within the great wall.

L'histoire de Tomb Raider II entoure le poignard mythique de Xian, une arme utilisée par un empereur de Chine pour commander son armée. En plongeant l'arme dans le cœur de son propriétaire, celle-ci a le pouvoir de transformer son porteur en dragon. Un flash-back révèle que la dernière bataille menée avec le poignard s'est soldée par une défaite lorsque les moines guerriers du Tibet ont réussi à retirer le couteau du cœur de l'empereur. Le poignard a ensuite été remis à sa place de repos à l'intérieur de la grande muraille.
La storia di Tomb Raider II ruota intorno al mitico pugnale di Xian, un'arma usata da un imperatore cinese per comandare il suo esercito. Affondando l'arma nel cuore del suo proprietario, l'arma ha il potere di trasformare chi la porta in un drago. Un flashback rivela che l'ultima battaglia combattuta con il pugnale si concluse con una sconfitta quando i monaci guerrieri del Tibet riuscirono a rimuovere il coltello dal cuore dell'imperatore. Il pugnale fu quindi riportato al suo posto all'interno della grande muraglia.
