Populous : The Beginning [USA]

Populous: the beginning is a strategy and god-style video game. It is the third entry in the populous video game series, developed by bullfrog productions in 1998. Unlike earlier games in the series, which cast the player in the role of a god influencing loyal followers, the beginning took a radical departure and placed the player in the role of a shaman, who directly leads her tribe against opponents. Throughout the twenty-five missions of the campaign, the player leads their tribe across a solar system, dominating enemy tribes and tapping new sources of magic, with the ultimate goal of the shaman attaining godhood herself.

Populous : le début est un jeu vidéo de stratégie et de style divin. Il s'agit du troisième opus de la célèbre série de jeux vidéo, développée par Bullfrog Productions en 1998. Contrairement aux jeux précédents de la série, qui mettaient le joueur dans le rôle d'un dieu influençant ses fidèles, le début a pris un départ radical et a placé le joueur dans le rôle d'un chaman, qui dirige directement sa tribu contre ses adversaires. Tout au long des vingt-cinq missions de la campagne, le joueur mène sa tribu à travers un système solaire, dominant les tribus ennemies et exploitant de nouvelles sources de magie, dans le but ultime que le chaman atteigne lui-même la divinité.

A differenza dei giochi precedenti della serie, che interpretavano il giocatore nel ruolo di un dio che influenzava i fedeli seguaci, l'inizio ha preso una svolta radicale e ha posto il giocatore nel ruolo di uno sciamano, che guida direttamente la sua tribù contro gli avversari. Nel corso delle venticinque missioni della campagna, il giocatore guida la propria tribù attraverso un sistema solare, dominando le tribù nemiche e sfruttando nuove fonti di magia, con l'obiettivo finale dello sciamano di raggiungere la divinità.
