The unofficial sequel to pulstar, blazing star is again a horizontal-scrolling shoot-'em-up. One or two players proceed along levels, each with a boss enemy at the end, trying to redeem the humankind. There are six ships to choose from, each with its own pilot (four of them females), weapons and characteristics of movement. Each ship has its own types of shots, but also a standard shot, charged shot (more powerful) and split shot (a charged shot can be parted into more bullets, lowering the power of each bullet while widening the fire range).

La suite non officielle de Pulstar, Blazing Star est encore une fois un shoot'em-up à défilement horizontal. Un ou deux joueurs progressent dans les niveaux, chacun avec un boss ennemi à la fin, essayant de racheter l'humanité. Vous avez le choix entre six navires, chacun avec son propre pilote (dont quatre femmes), ses armes et ses propres caractéristiques de mouvement. Chaque vaisseau possède ses propres types de tirs, mais aussi un tir standard, un tir chargé (plus puissant) et un tir divisé (un tir chargé peut être divisé en plusieurs balles, réduisant la puissance de chaque balle tout en élargissant la portée de tir).
