Mario kart ds is the continuation of the long running racing game series that began on the super nintendo. It features 16 new tracks as well as 16 tracks from the previous 4 games, with each set split up into the nitro and retro grand prix respectively. Eight racers are initially available, each with two go-karts to choose from. A number of characters and additional karts are also available to unlock. New items have been added to the arsenal, including a blooper squid that squirts ink onto the screens of other players and a bullet bill power up that transforms the player into a giant, fast-travelling bullet on autopilot.

Mario Kart DS est la suite de la longue série de jeux de course qui a débuté sur la Super Nintendo. Il comprend 16 nouvelles pistes ainsi que 16 pistes des 4 jeux précédents, chaque ensemble étant divisé respectivement en grand prix nitro et rétro. Huit coureurs sont initialement disponibles, chacun avec deux karts à pédales parmi lesquels choisir. Un certain nombre de personnages et de karts supplémentaires sont également disponibles à débloquer. De nouveaux objets ont été ajoutés à l'arsenal, notamment un calmar bêtisier qui projette de l'encre sur les écrans des autres joueurs et un bec de balle qui transforme le joueur en une balle géante se déplaçant rapidement sur pilote automatique.

Contiene 16 nuove piste e 16 piste dei 4 giochi precedenti, con ogni set suddiviso rispettivamente in nitro e retro grand prix. Inizialmente sono disponibili otto corridori, ciascuno con due go-kart tra cui scegliere. È inoltre possibile sbloccare numerosi personaggi e kart aggiuntivi. Nuovi oggetti sono stati aggiunti all'arsenale, tra cui un calamaro blooper che spruzza inchiostro sugli schermi degli altri giocatori e un potenziamento della fattura del proiettile che trasforma il giocatore in un proiettile gigante e veloce con il pilota automatico.
