Schmeiser Robo (Japan)

Schmeiser robo plays similarly to other 2-d versus fighting games during its release, which the player's character fights against his or her opponent in best two-out-of-three matches in a single player tournament mode with the computer or against another human player. However, unlike most other fighting games released at the same time, the game uses an 8-way joystick and 3 buttons: one for punching, another for kicking, and the last one first introduced in the game during the modern era of fighting games, the guard button. Every character can do moving and attacking in spite of repeatedly pressing the guard button; however, they can't block their opponents' attacks by using it. Other unique features introduced in this game are quick (or small) jumping, air-guarding, counter-attacking, guard-canceling and rush-attacking.

Schmeiser robo joue de la même manière que les autres jeux de combat en 2D lors de sa sortie, dans lesquels le personnage du joueur se bat contre son adversaire dans les meilleurs matchs deux sur trois dans un mode tournoi solo avec l'ordinateur ou contre un autre joueur humain. Cependant, contrairement à la plupart des autres jeux de combat sortis à la même époque, le jeu utilise un joystick à 8 directions et 3 boutons : un pour frapper, un autre pour donner des coups de pied, et le dernier introduit pour la première fois dans le jeu à l'ère moderne des jeux de combat, le bouton de garde. Chaque personnage peut se déplacer et attaquer même s'il appuie à plusieurs reprises sur le bouton de garde ; cependant, ils ne peuvent pas bloquer les attaques de leurs adversaires en l'utilisant. D'autres fonctionnalités uniques introduites dans ce jeu sont les sauts rapides (ou petits), la protection aérienne, la contre-attaque, l'annulation de la garde et l'attaque précipitée.

Schmeiser Robo gioca in modo simile ad altri giochi di combattimento 2-D durante la sua uscita, in cui il personaggio del giocatore combatte contro il suo avversario nelle migliori partite due su tre in una modalità torneo per giocatore singolo con il computer o contro un altro giocatore umano.
