A great 3-d fighting game in which the combatants use hand-held weapons. The game is set in the year 1584. The game tells the tale of warriors searching for the ultimate sword, "soul edge". It has been given many names throughout the history, such as "the sword of salvation", "the sword of heroes" and "the ultimate sword" among others. Many strong warriors searched for years, but very few actually found it. The sword, currently in the form of a twin pair of long swords, appeared mysteriously in an auction. It was taken by the dreaded captain cervantes and nothing was known of his fate thereafter. Now, nine warriors from around the world search for the sword for different reasons. Some for power, others for revenge; some believing it's a benevolent sword, searching for its support; while others knowing of its evil nature, seeking its destruction. Nothing is known for certain about the sword, except for one thing: it brings misfortune to those seeking it.

Un superbe jeu de combat en 3D dans lequel les combattants utilisent des armes à main. Le jeu se déroule en 1584. Le jeu raconte l'histoire de guerriers à la recherche de l'épée ultime, « le bord de l'âme ». On lui a donné de nombreux noms tout au long de l'histoire, tels que « l'épée du salut », « l'épée des héros » et « l'épée ultime », entre autres. De nombreux guerriers puissants ont cherché pendant des années, mais très peu l'ont réellement trouvé. L'épée, actuellement sous la forme d'une paire jumelle de longues épées, est apparue mystérieusement lors d'une vente aux enchères. Il a été pris par le redoutable capitaine Cervantes et on ne sait plus rien de son sort par la suite. Aujourd'hui, neuf guerriers du monde entier recherchent l'épée pour différentes raisons. Certains pour le pouvoir, d’autres pour la vengeance ; certains croient qu'il s'agit d'une épée bienveillante, cherchant son soutien ; tandis que d'autres, connaissant sa nature perverse, cherchent à sa destruction. Rien n’est connu avec certitude sur l’épée, sauf une chose : elle porte malheur à ceux qui la recherchent.

Il gioco racconta la storia di guerrieri alla ricerca della spada definitiva, "soul edge". Nel corso della storia le sono stati dati molti nomi, come "la spada della salvezza", "la spada degli eroi" e "la spada definitiva", tra gli altri. Molti guerrieri forti lo cercarono per anni, ma pochissimi lo trovarono davvero. La spada, attualmente sotto forma di una coppia gemella di spade lunghe, è apparsa misteriosamente in un'asta. Fu presa dal temuto capitano Cervantes e da allora in poi non si seppe più nulla del suo destino. Ora, nove guerrieri provenienti da tutto il mondo cercano la spada per motivi diversi. Alcuni per il potere, altri per la vendetta; alcuni credono che sia una spada benevola e cercano il suo sostegno; mentre altri, conoscendo la sua natura malvagia, cercano la sua distruzione. Non si sa nulla con certezza sulla spada, tranne una cosa: porta sfortuna a chi la cerca.
