Gun.Smoke (Japan)

Gun.smoke is a vertically-scrolling shoot-em-up set in the wild west, in which the player takes the role of a billy; a young sheriff charged with hunting down and killing a number of infamous 'wanted' outlaws. Each level is packed with gun-toting bandits and the sheriff must shoot his way through the stage, before finally taking on the wanted outlaw 'boss' character at the end. Each outlaw wields a special weapon unique to them, such as a winchester rifle, knives, darts or boomerangs. Shooting the barrels that litter the levels reveals power-ups such as boots (for extra speed), rifles (for increased range) and bullets (for rapid fire). The game's 3 directional fire buttons (for firing left, right or ahead) can be combined (pressed simultaneously) to create a total of 8 different firing directions.

Gun.smoke est un jeu de tir à défilement vertical se déroulant dans le Far West, dans lequel le joueur joue le rôle d'un Billy ; un jeune shérif chargé de traquer et de tuer un certain nombre de fameux hors-la-loi « recherchés ». Chaque niveau est rempli de bandits armés et le shérif doit se frayer un chemin à travers la scène, avant de finalement affronter le personnage de « patron » hors-la-loi recherché à la fin. Chaque hors-la-loi utilise une arme spéciale qui lui est propre, comme un fusil Winchester, des couteaux, des fléchettes ou des boomerangs. Tirer sur les barils qui jonchent les niveaux révèle des bonus tels que des bottes (pour une vitesse supplémentaire), des fusils (pour une portée accrue) et des balles (pour un tir rapide). Les 3 boutons de tir directionnels du jeu (pour tirer à gauche, à droite ou devant) peuvent être combinés (appuyés simultanément) pour créer un total de 8 directions de tir différentes.
