Return of the ninja is a side-scrolling beat 'm up game set in japan. On a day when tsukikage and saiyuri return to their village, they see it on fire. The player takes the role of either of the two and has to stop the ones attacking the village and avenge their friends. The character is controlled with the d-pad. The a and b-buttons are used to jump and attack. There's no fundamental difference in moves between the two characters, but they do feature different animations. Aside from enemies which need to be killed there's also environmental hazards such as fire which have to be avoided.

Return of the ninja est un jeu de beat'm up à défilement horizontal se déroulant au Japon. Le jour où Tsukikage et Saiyuri retournent dans leur village, ils le voient en feu. Le joueur joue le rôle de l'un des deux et doit arrêter ceux qui attaquent le village et venger ses amis. Le personnage est contrôlé avec le D-pad. Les boutons a et b sont utilisés pour sauter et attaquer. Il n'y a pas de différence fondamentale dans les mouvements entre les deux personnages, mais ils présentent des animations différentes. Outre les ennemis qui doivent être tués, il existe également des risques environnementaux tels que les incendies qui doivent être évités.
Il ritorno del ninja è un gioco picchiaduro a scorrimento laterale ambientato in Giappone. Un giorno in cui Tsukikage e Saiyuri ritornano al loro villaggio, lo vedono in fiamme. Il giocatore assume il ruolo di uno dei due e deve fermare quelli che attaccano il villaggio e vendicare i loro amici. Il personaggio è controllato con il D-pad. I pulsanti aeb vengono utilizzati per saltare e attaccare. Non c'è alcuna differenza fondamentale nelle mosse tra i due personaggi, ma presentano animazioni diverse. Oltre ai nemici che devono essere uccisi, ci sono anche rischi ambientali come il fuoco che devono essere evitati.
